Brief Introduction of China Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo
On September 7, 2013, President Xi Jinping delivered a speech in the Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan, in which he said, to make each country’s economic ties closer, mutual cooperation deeper, development space larger, we should adopt innovative cooperation mode by jointly building the "Silk Road Economic Zone", from a tiny point to a single page, from a single line to the whole area, gradually form a regional grand cooperation. On October 3, 2013, when President Xi Jinping addressed the Congress in Indonesia, he expressed that China is willing to strengthen maritime cooperation with the ASEAN countries and make good use of the China-ASEAN Maritime Cooperation Fund set up by the Chinese government to develop a good marine cooperative partnership and jointly build the 21st century "Maritime Silk Road".
From then, One Zone One Road concept becomes clearer, and turns to be the national development strategy.
With the aim to implement President Xi’s strategic vision, and promote the tourism development, Shaanxi Tourism Bureau has started to sponsor the China Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo (CXSRITE) since 2014, which has been successfully held for three years. There’re some 500 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions to exhibit with an exhibition area of 20,000 sqm, which attracted 4,000 person/time of professional visitors, and 30,000 person/time of public visitors.
In order to increase the brand awareness and effectiveness of CXSRITE, Shaanxi Tourism Bureau, the sponsor of the Expo decided to name Beijing Relations Conference & Exhibition Services Co., ltd (BRE) through public bidding, the event organizer for the next 3 years, who is a leading exhibition service provider in domestic China with over a decade’s experience in exhibition service. Being the organizer of CXSRITE, BRE shall strive to build it a world’s renowned tourism exhibition through its efforts and with the help of the international influence of some Shaanxi elements such as Terra Cotta. In the meanwhile, BRE shall further improve Shaanxi, particularly Xi’an’s international influence and enhance the concept and positioning of Xi’an as an international cosmopolitan city by CXSRITE. The expo shall have a rapid improvement and development. We are looking forward to the CXSRITE 2017, which shall be held in Qujiang International Convention Center in Xi’an on August 4-6th, 2017.

Tourism is the most advantageous industry of Shaanxi, and is Shaanxi’s strategic pillar industry for economic development and the leader for modern service industry. The provincial capital Xi’an, whose ancient name was Chang’an, Gao Jing, is the sub-provincial level city, and a national region-center city (northwest), also an important center city confirmed by the State Council, the state’s important scientific research, education and industrial base, also a World’s Renowned Historical City named by UNESCO in 1981.
Xi’an is located in the middle of Guanzhong Plain, with north border neighboring Weihe Rivder, and south border adjacent to Qinlin Mountain, and is known as being surrounded by 8 rivers. The city has 11 districts and 2 counties, with a total size of 10,108 square kilometers. At the end of 2015, its residential population is 8,705,600, of which 6,356,800 are urban city residents, the urbanization rate reaches 72.61%.
Chang’an was the empire’s capital city for long in the history. 13 dynasties from West Zhou, Qin, West Han, Xin Mang, West Jin, Qian Zhao, Qian Qin, Hou Qin, West Wei, North Zhou, Sui and Tang chose Xi’an as their capital city ( totally 1,077 years), and is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization, and the starting point of Silk Road. Feng Gao city, Qin E Pang Palace, Terra Cotta, Hai Weiyang Palace, Changle Palace, Sui Daxing City, Tang Daming Palance and Xingqing Palace all form the Chang’an Complex.
Xi’an is one of the best tourism destinations and civilized cities in China, two items in six places are included in the World’s Heritage List, which are Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum, Terra Cotta Warriors, Da Yan Pagoda, Xiao Yan Pagoda, Tang Dynasty ruins of Da Ming Palace, Han Dynasty ruins of Wei Yang Palace in Chang’an City and Xingjiap temple pagoda.
Shaanxi is both the world’s renowned tourism destination, and the most well-known tourists’ source in western China. Xi’an city has a population of nearly 100 million, with regional GDP of 581.003 billion RMB in 2015, the per capita GDP is 66,738 RMB, who has a strong spending power in tourism.
